Ridin' on the train

I know I said I was going to commit to blogging, ha! I wish I had the time to commit to blogging. Today's blog is about something I wanted to post a month ago but I never found the time to do it.
About a month ago a steam engine rolled into town. E's best bud had an extra ticket so he got to ride it about 35 miles. I tried to get tickets for our family to ride, but I was given the run around. We were supposed get tickets since J is a firefighter. The first time I called I was told that the school got first dibs on the tickets, then the police, fire department and ambulance, then the town people got what was left. Well, when I called the second time I was told that the tickets were for the firefighter only, not for his entire family. Well, knowing how much E likes trains, J was not going to ride it if E couldn't go too. The next thing I know, E's best bud's mom calls me (the night before the ride) to let me know they had an extra ticket. I was glad she thought of E, but at the same time I was very upset. The day of the ride comes along and you would not believe the number of tickets they had left, I saw at least one completely empty car! I am just glad E got to ride it, it was probably a once in a lifetime experience. He had the time of his life---not only was he on a train (which he loves) but he was on one with his best bud! He was in heaven!
Here it comes!
A little closer look.

One of the passenger cars.

E and his best bud with the conductor.

This was a 2 story passenger car.

E getting off the train. Look at that huge grin!

I love the pictures! The one of the boys with the conductor is great, but the one of him getting off with that smile on his face - priceless! I wish I could have been there to see first-hand. Thanks for sharing his experience with us.
Love and miss you,

How cute! I bet he had a blast!

I rode a train when I was little...I always thought that was really cool because not many people get to.

You should get your bday invite on Wed...I hope you guys can make it. Addy wants him to spend the night with us soon, so I told her maybe we could meet halfway sometime in November and keep him for the weekend.

Glad you're blogging!!!!!
